Expamet, one of the industry’s most well established companies, is set for expansion following its recent acquisition by the Exmet Group.

As the UK’s foremost manufacturer of specialist metal building products, Expamet exports worldwide and is the market leader in plasterers’ accessories for the building industry.

The take over follows many months of strategic company analysis by the Exmet Group headed by MD Nigel Dickinson and Chairman John Cowley and restores the association between Expamet, and Metpost, the UK’s leading brand of fence post supports and accessories.

“We began tracking Expamet, and its sister company Metpost, in 2006” explains Nigel Dickinson “The Group already encapsulates a plethora of products and equipment so both companies fit our portfolio perfectly”

The Exmet Group has announced a five year plan with the focus on brand investment and expansion. It also includes a targeted acquisition strategy, bringing more companies from the building products and construction sectors, to Expamet’s Hartlepool site under the Exmet umbrella.

“We want to be proactive – to make the company grow substantially in the long term.” continues Nigel, “The brands are well-recognised and we now have the opportunity to build and develop them further, we will continue to grow our share of these sectors and look for the gaps in the ranges as we strive to maintain our position as market leaders.”

The Exmet Group has an enviable track record and brings a wealth of knowledge and market experience to the table. John and Nigel have worked successfully together for many years. The acquisition of failing Marley Waterproofing is a testament to their business acumen transforming it from a loss-making company to a profitable market leader within two years.
